Last week, I taught my second class presentation about the connection between Hashimoto’s Disease and the Throat Chakra. The Throat Chakra is one of the most fascinating Chakras to dive into. My Reiki experience with the Throat Chakra is that it is the main pathway connecting mind and heart energy. As your deepest desires convert into physical matter, the energy of your thoughts, ideas, and emotions travels through your entire Chakra system.
The Throat Chakra is also a platform for expressing vulnerability. For instance, have you ever had that experience when you feel like you’re about to cry, and then your throat gets tight?
Hashimoto’s Disease affects the thyroid, a butterfly shaped gland that surrounds the voice box and trachea (wind pipe). Hashimoto’s Disease is also an autoimmune disorder. This means that the immune system detects that the thyroid gland is a foreign body. As a result it attacks the gland, which is part of the endocrine system. This system’s job is to deliver hormones throughout the body in order to keep it in a balanced thriving state.
Because the thyroid gland is part of the anatomy of the throat, Hashimoto’s Disease has an energetic connection to the Throat Chakra. What might be happening within the dimension of the Throat Chakra? What well-spring of infinitely good and worthy life force energy has become limited or cut off from the Throat Chakra?
The Throat Chakra
The Throat Chakra is the part of the energetic body that includes the physical components of the neck and throat:
- Trachea, thyroid, neck bones, face, mouth, esophagus, parathyroid, hypothalamus, pituitary gland, and automatic nervous system. The Throat Chakra is related to the energy patterns of your soul’s will, expression, judgment, and ability to make decisions that align to your higher will.
A person with Hashimoto’s Disease may suffer from:
- Fatigue, swelling, sluggishness, sensitivity to cold, constipation, pale, dry skin, a puffy face, brittle nails, hair loss, enlarged tongue, weight gain, muscle aches, weakness, joint pain, prolonged menstrual cycles, sexual dysfunction, depression, and memory loss.
A Beginning to Healing
Have you been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Disease, or do you have a different physical, emotional, or spiritual challenge? The first thing I want to share with you is that well-being is your most natural state of existence.
In addition, if something is off or has been off for any length of time, let it be your message to tend to yourself tenderly and compassionately.
Most certainly, within you is desire. A natural desire to live from a state of trust, accomplishment, love, purpose, creativity, expression, positive thoughts, positive emotions, goodness, and worth.
You deserve radical self care.
You deserve to release trauma, whether it’s acute or chronic.
Your Energy Impacts Your Ability to Heal
Let’s take a moment to place your focus on your energy. First and foremost, you are energy. In other words, you are experiencing this life within a physical body. But, your entire system is made up of energy. The energy that created and sustains the universe is the same energy of your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies. If you want to heal, your focus has to be on your energy, and essentially the willingness to receive and use healing from a higher power.
To where, what, or who do you direct your energy?
When you wake up in the morning what are your first thoughts? How do your first thoughts of the day direct your daily experience of life?
The Power of Reiki
As a Reiki practitioner, I am humbled by each and every session I share with a client. I feel really lucky to be able to stand as a loving connector between your physical self and your inner being. While I cannot imagine what you’ve been through, or how hard it’s been, above all, I want you to thrive.
Let’s make a plan. Let’s work together. Let’s discover your possibilities, your meaning, your purpose, and what it really means to be the whole well-being of you.
